How to avoid Blog Comment Spam?
30 Nov 2006Lately, I got loads of spam in my blog comment, some are really unrevelant and some funny link, so I added this comment SPAM control plugin called “SPAM KARMA”.. hope it will help reduce the spam comments in this blog site.. If you want to get the source code, check out this link . Anyone else have better suggestions to avoid these spammers?
You may want to try out my plug-in which inserts a small JavaScript code into the form. It’s completely invisible for the commentator.
The trick behind this plug-in is to generate a unique authorization key into the “action” attribute of the comment form. There is also a binding to the SK2 plug-in available.
Some other tricks like stopping POST requests on the wp-comments-post.php script with no referrer might also block some legitimate users, too.
You may also want to get Bad Behavior 2 which stops a lot spam on my blog, too.
