Part II of lesson Learn from the movie Ben Hur on Reconciliation by Oswald Chu.. Review Part I Lessons From Ben Hur (Part 1) Walls of Hostility
For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us. He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations.
He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups. Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of his death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death. ~Ephesians 2:14-16 New Living Translation
There are numerous lessons about these clips one can learn. For one, how lepers were perceived as we appreciate the passage in Mark 1
A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. “If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean,” he said. Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” Instantly the leprosy disappeared, and the man was healed. ~Mark 1:40-42 (NIV)
This movie also reminds me that at one point I had spiritual leprosy, sin. Jesus has cleansed me from all of that and I can have a brand new start in life. So can you.
Remember that we are no longer our ow, but that we belong to Jesus, our Master. Let us continue to serve him with all of our hearts and share the great news with as many as possible.
I felt the tickle on the back of my head removed when I came out of the waters of baptism.
Remember your own conversion.
